BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, April 24, 2014 — It was all business at IPC APEX EXPO® last month as 8,068 electronics manufacturing professionals from 47 countries converged at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. In addition to experiencing a 14 percent increase in registrations to the technical programs and near-record participation levels in IPC’s Standards Development Committee meetings, IPC APEX EXPO hosted a sold out exhibition: 443 exhibitors encompassing 137,700 net square feet, the largest exhibition in five years. And with more than 80 percent of the 3,801 attendees identifying themselves as key buyers or influencers, the exhibitors at North America’s largest electronics assembly event enjoyed three days of qualified leads, business development and sales.
“The 2014 IPC APEX EXPO in Las Vegas was exceptional,” said Pat Ortiz of Flexlink Systems Inc. “This was the best event in eight years with customers who came with real budgets. The sales leads generated during the exhibition will yield great results this year.”
"As a new exhibitor to IPC APEX EXPO, eSurface was extremely impressed with not only the management of the event, but also the number of leads for our revolutionary technology and the quality of the dialogue with the attendees. They mean business and so do we, so for us it was one of the best trade shows we have ever attended. In fact, we are already making plans to be a major participant in the 2015 event," said Rowland Hanson, eSurface Technologies Board of Directors and general manager.
Attendees like Jason Janssen with Parker Hannifin Corporation would agree, “Attending the show helped us find new suppliers and technologies that we did not know existed.”
Gabriel Sanchez of Honeywell System Sensor in Mexico also benefitted from the exhibition as well as the educational programs, “Attending the courses and show helped me find new suppliers and solutions for my company in regards to PCB handling, best practices for manufacturing and implementing projects with huge savings.”
“The technical courses were really interesting, driven by industry leaders,” said Stephanie Chailfoux, Ciena. “With today’s manufacturing technology, we need to be on top of things. These courses helped me get a feel of the industry standards and DFX processes … and connect with peers. I definitely had a great time.”
IPC APEX EXPO is the largest event in North America focused on the printed board and electronics manufacturing industries.
In 2015, IPC APEX EXPO will move to the San Diego Convention Center, February 24–26. Industry researchers, engineers and academics are invited to submit an abstract for consideration in next year’s technical conference or professional development courses in the online call for participation at www.IPCAPEXEXPO.org/cfp.
