Technical Training Aids Announces SOLIDWORKS’ Release of Education Edition 2014-2015

Preparing Students for Jobs

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 20, 2014 — Technical Training Aids, this month marks the release of SOLIDWORKS Education Edition 2014-2015. This latest version includes new functionalities to the 3D software portfolio delivering a rich array of product offerings including 3D CAD, Simulation, Product Data Management, Technical Communication and Electrical Design that further the ability of students to design without limits.

Teaching guides and lessons provide educators with  additional support for developing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum. In addition, qualified schools are given SOLIDWORKS Student Edition licenses at no charge for use by their students outside the classroom.

Schools with a SOLIDWORKS Education subscription can also administer the  Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) exam to their students. As the global SOLIDWORKS community surpassed 100,000 certified users, educators and administrators recognize certification as a major asset in a job search because it effectively validates student expertise to prospective employers.

Powered by Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE company, the integrated SOLIDWORKS Education 2014 -2015 product portfolio includes new tools and enhancements to shorten the design process, enhance collaboration and increase productivity across four key areas: design tools, integrated workflows, performance increases and enhanced visualization for improved collaboration.

As students compete in events such as the SAE collegiate series, FIRST Robotics, and senior class projects, SOLIDWORKS Education Edition provides one solution to design, analyze and document, saving critical time.

SOLIDWORKS Electrical, sold separately, is also part of this version. SOLIDWORKS Electrical enables students in engineering, robotics, and other disciplines to create electrical projects starting with 2D system schematics and ending with 3D routing and cabling interconnecting components.

SOLIDWORKS Education Edition 2014-2015 is currently available through Technical Training Aids. For more information, visit: http://www.ttaweb.com/news/news.aspx?id=29
