IBSystems Has Big Presence at SIGGRAPH 2014

August 19, 2014. IBSystems, the leading provider of Web portals that provide valuable resources and timely information to professionals in various technical disciplines, just returned from a SIGGRAPH 2014 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. At SIGGRAPH, the following IBSystems portals were represented:

  • ShareCG.Com for 2D and 3D Artists, and Computer Graphics Industry Professionals
  • MCADCafe.Com for Mechanical Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Professionals
  • AECCafe.Com for Architectural Engineering and Construction Industry Professionals

The SIGGRAPH conference and exhibition is a five-day interdisciplinary educational experience that also includes a commercial exhibition that attracted over 150 exhibitors from around the world. SIGGRAPH is widely recognized as the most prestigious forum for the publication of computer graphics research. In addition to SIGGRAPH's leading-edge technical program, the conference's installations provide close-up views of the latest in digital art, emerging technologies, and hands-on opportunities for creative collaboration.

SIGGRAPH 2014 was sponsored by The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), an educational and scientific society uniting the world's computing educators, researchers, and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources and address the field's challenges.

As a media sponsor, IBSystems was an active participant in SIGGRAPH 2014 in talking with dozens of attendees, attending and contributing to technical sessions, and recording live executive video interviews at its exhibition booth throughout the week.

The executives interviewed included those from companies, such as:

  • AMD
  • ARM
  • Autodesk
  • BenQ
  • Dell
  • Lenovo
  • NVIDIA
  • Several others

These interviews will be available for viewing very soon at ShareCG.Com.

During SIGGRAPH 2014, IBSystems collected business cards from attendees stopping by the booth for the chance to win a Kindle Fire by random drawing. As the show closed, a passerby was chosen to pull out the winning business card.

The winner was Danielle Kraus. She is a recent graduate from the Art Institute of Indianapolis in Media Arts and Animation, and currently resides in Jackson Michigan. She has had two internships - Fox 59 and Innovative Edit, and she is pursuing a career in Motion Graphics and Animation. Danielle has attended SIGGRAPH for the past three years, and this year she got the opportunity to be a Student Volunteer SIGGRAPH 2014.

Congratulations, Danielle, and best of luck in your career!
