PASO ROBLES, Calif., Sept. 29, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —

PASO ROBLES, Calif., Sept. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The DAOU Family joins the FRIENDS of HEARST CASTLE to raise awareness for a California architectural gem and its world class Art collection in a soiree inspired by the roaring 20's!

DAOU hosts 250 guests from their Wine Club at HEARST CASTLE on Sep 13, 2014

DAOU Vineyards is lucky to have very generous lovers of wine who were more than pleased to support an elegant evening at Hearst Castle hosted by DAOU. It was an Oscars type of night, it was a Gatsby type of night, it celebrated Mr. William Randolph Hearst, his love story, his life and the lives of all those who have lived the American Dream and all those who believe it is still a reality in our beautiful country.

The DAOU Family arrived to the Central Coast of California in 2007 and immediately fell in love with a stunning piece of property at 2,200 feet elevation on the west side of the famous Paso Robles AVA. It is there that they placed their roots and set a plan to build a legacy for a family that has escaped wars, immigrated to France from Lebanon, coming to the United States when young Georges Daou was seeking an education. Georges ended up graduating from UCSD (University of California at San Diego) with a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and his younger brother who followed him shortly thereafter received a degree in Computer Engineering from the same university.

The brothers have been very close since childhood. They set out to build a successful computer networking company at the ages of 22 and 26, and retired in 1997 after succeeding with their 5th best IPO on Wall Street that year. Known for their visionary acuity, the brothers continued working on various technology ventures as investors. In 2010, they lost their dear sister Michelle to cancer and then their father and their mother all within a period of 14 months. It was then that the brothers decided to truly live their passion which for them constitutes a life on the vine and the growing and production of first growth class wines in the best of terroirs around the world. After scouring the various well-known AVAs around the globe, they fell in love with Paso Robles. In particular what is now DAOU Mountain, which represented the perfect terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux blends.

Since 2007 their tag line has been "Live the dream, Come to Paso". As their adventure progressed, they both realized it was their life long destiny. In fact, Georges laughs and says "I was born on George Washington's birthday and Daniel was born on Abraham Lincoln's Birthday, so little did we know we were destined to be Americans. A series of serendipitous occurrences including the fact that the Hoffman Mountain Ranch Winery (the first commercial winery in Paso Robles) they purchased was bought by Dr. Stan Hoffman in 1961 (Kissinger's cardiologist then) the year Georges was born, and then planted in 1965 which is the year Daniel was born.

Aside from making world class wines and enjoying the life of "vignerons" as Daniel says, "Georges and I are the happiest we have ever been. We survived a lot of tragedies and were fortunate to experience a lot of successes as well, therefore living the American Dream." Georges would now say "We want to share the American Dream with our wine club members, guests and consumers around the world who appreciate the types of fine wines we produce at the estate."

Along the way the brothers were invited by Jeanette Trompeter to  visit Hearst castle. From first sight, they absolutely fell in love with this treasure and decided to do what they could to help the Friends of Hearst Castle organization.

Please enjoy this video link of the event and look forward DAOU Vineyards & Winery to produce similar events on the Central coast as well as around the world.  http://youtu.be/Z1CFXEYZRv4
