The DATE 2015 conference and exhibition in Grenoble attracted 1450 experts

March 19, 2015  -- The DATE 2015 Conference and Exhibition closed doors lastFriday, March 13, 2015,receiving 1450 registrations from all over the world and ending with apositive feedback from both participants and exhibitors.

DATE 2015 received eligible 915 paper submissions – an all-time high for DATE and a 3% increase over DATE 2014. Besides the large share (45%) of submissions coming from Europe, 24% of submissions are from North-America, 28% from Asia, and 3% from the rest of the world. This manifests DATE’s international character, its global reach and world-wide impact.

For the 18th successive year, DATE presented an exciting technical programme, comprising 78 technical sessions and 11 Exhibition Theatre sessions.The DATE week started on Monday with ten in-depth tutorials and the ACM SIGDA/EDAA PhD Forum.

On Tuesday, the conference was opened by the plenary keynote speakersGünther H. Oettinger, EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society,who talked about European Microelectronics Strategy, and Laurent Rémont, STMicroelectronics Group Vice President for Technology and Product strategy, Embedded Processing Solutions Segment, who presented a talk on ”Embracing the Digital Transformation& Enabling IoT Innovations”. On the same day, Mentor Graphics organized a successful lunchtime keynote sessionon “How micro-electronic will change your life style”and the Executive Track offered a series of business panels discussing hot topics. The accompanying exhibition comprised 20 exhibiting companies, including 5 European Projects.

The distinctive highlights of DATE 2015 were again the two special days: “Designing Electronics for the Internet of Things (IoT)” and “Designing Electronics for Medical Applications”with keynotes given by Wolfgang Wahlster (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, DE) who talked aboutIndustrie 4.0:From the Internet of Things to Cyber-Physical Production Systems,Antun Domic (Synopsys, US) who analyzed “The Rise of IoT, and the Role of EDA” and Kristoffer Famm (Glaxo SmithKline, GB) who talked about "Bioelectronic Medicines - Heralding in a New Therapeutic Approach”.

The DATE Party as the major networking event during the DATE week took place in the remarkable Museum of Grenoble and included a visit of the premises for all interested delegates. The City of Grenoble was again a dedicated and generous host.

With around 300 attendees, the ten Friday Workshops were a major event on its own and completed the DATE week successfully.

DATE continues attracting high participant numbers and therefore manifests its status as the leading EDA conference in Europe, shaping the future of the industry.

DATE 2016 will take place in the beautiful city of Dresden, Germany, from March 14 – 18, 2016, once again bringing together industry and research in partnership.
