ADOBE ANNOUNCES 2015 RELEASE OF TECHNICAL COMMUNICATION SUITE

New Release Powers the Creation, Management and Publishing of Instructional and Technical Content Across Devices

Adobe (Nasdaq: ADBE) today announced the 2015 release of Adobe Technical Communication Suite, the next generation of its complete single-source authoring and multi-device publishing toolkit for technical writers, help and policy authors, and instructional designers. The latest version of the industry-standard, end-to-end content development toolkit, streamlines the creation of standards-compliant, bidirectional technical content for global audiences.

The new release adds comprehensive support for authoring, translating and publishing content in right-to-left languages, such as Arabic and Hebrew, and enables authors to help people find relevant content faster through advanced personalization. It also expands content adoption by seamlessly delivering it across tablets, smartphones, e-readers, the Web, desktops and print through single-click publishing. Output formats include responsive HTML5, e-book and native mobile apps.

All major components of Adobe Technical Communication Suite were updated, including:

  • Adobe FrameMaker, a powerful authoring and publishing solution now complete with native support for right-to-left languages, a simplified form-based XML authoring experience, smoother Word import and out-of-the-box mobile publishing.
  • Adobe RoboHelp, a user-friendly authoring and mobile publishing solution that now leverages dynamic content filters to deliver relevant information faster to end users, and now also supports 17 different output formats to make publishing truly device-agnostic.
  • Adobe Captivate 8, Adobe Presenter 10 and the addition of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC round out the suite, now integrating powerful e-learning and ‘how to’ demo creation, dynamic video presentation and unmatched PDF functionalities.

“Delivering high-quality, high-impact help content anywhere, anytime and on any device is an absolute imperative for today’s organizations to achieve competitive differentiation,” said Matt Thompson, executive vice president, Worldwide Field Operations at Adobe. “This release of our technical communication tools provides everything that content development professionals need to efficiently create, manage and publish consumable, actionable, socially-enabled and contextually relevant help content for any device or platform.”

With the latest release of its specialist XML editing tool, Adobe FrameMaker XML Author, Adobe now offers a streamlined authoring and publishing solution that is simple enough for the occasional contributor or subject matter expert (SME), yet powerful enough for the experienced author. Now SMEs and casual authors can take advantage of an easy, form-like authoring experience to confidently create valid XML without worrying about the complexities of XML programming. The familiar FrameMaker user interface of Adobe FrameMaker XML Author also allows SMEs to easily collaborate in-context, on mobile devices and even while content authoring is going on, thus accelerating review and approval cycles.

Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server, an enterprise software solution for automated multichannel publishing, completes this latest release. Users can now access publishing services remotely, manage them with a comprehensive dashboard and publish to EPUB 3, KF8, MOBI, PDF, native mobile apps, WebHelp, CHM and other formats.

Partner/Customer Quotes

“The new slogan for Adobe FrameMaker should be, ‘It pays for itself!’ I help organizations improve the reach of their tech comm, to reduce cost and effort, and FrameMaker makes big strides in both these areas. Adobe has enhanced the Responsive HTML5 output, and now directly produces iOS and Android apps, with no additional software needed. The new release of FrameMaker now reduces the cost of localization by supporting RTL languages. Combined with a customizable Microsoft Word import function, FrameMaker now reaches into entirely new markets.” — Matt Sullivan, Founder, Tech Comm Tools

“There is a new innovative way to increase findability and personalize end-user content in the new release of Adobe RoboHelp. Dynamic Content Filtering lets authors create content categories such as, Roles, Locations, Products, etc., that allow the end user to ‘self-select’ the content they want to locate. This personalized content is then delivered in topics, as well as ‘on the fly’ from the Table of Contents, Index and even the Search results.” — John Daigle, Independent Adobe Certified RoboHelp and Captivate Instructor, Owner of Evergreen Online Learning, LLC

“The 2015 release of Adobe Technical Communication Suite is packed full with new features, usability enhancements, and revolutionary developments. Updates include full and best-in-class support for Right-To-Left languages, DITA 1.3 support, simplified XML authoring, and native apps publishing for iOS and Android right out of the box—it’s as easy as 1-2-3. There’s also an endless list of user interface enhancements. It’s hard to decide which is the best reason for upgrading.” — Stefan Gentz, CEO of TRACOM
