3D animation, visual special effects and motion graphics are just some of the cutting edge skills students are learning on Webster University Thailand's BA in Animation program. Imagination and artistic expression combine with technical and storytelling skills to inspire the creative animators of tomorrow.

Award-Winning Students!

While working in cartoons may sound like fun and games, the rewards can be serious. Webster University St. Louis alumna Leah Latham, who graduated just five years ago with a BA in Animation, was part of the editorial production team on the globally successful, multi-award winning Disney feature, Frozen.

Even the Tutors are Stars!

While Webster students are looking forward to a bright future, the faculty is already burning brightly on the digital stage. At last year's Adobe Digital Publishing Summit in Singapore, School of Media Communications lecturer Thomas Grove was invited to be part of the Expert Panel. The input of Thomas and his colleague Victor M. Sujaritpinij earned them praise from Mr. Stephen Hamill, Managing Director – Adobe South East Asia who concluded the DPS event by stating, "the insights brought to you by leading brands – DBS, The Straits Times, ITE and Webster University, together with the Adobe executives, have generated great interest and we have received very good feedback on the Summit."

From Cartoons to Careers in Marketing!

Webster University Thailand is committed to driving digital skills forward with the introduction of courses which integrate the technology for many roles right now and certainly in the future, from cartoons to careers in marketing. Recent course additions are, Delivering Digital Media and Digital Publishing Content Development, both of which incorporate digital and tech innovation.  These join the undergraduate course, Issues in Management: Management in the Digital Age, as well as the MA in Media Communications.

Courses coming up this following spring include Digital Photographic Imaging and an Introduction to Interactive Digital Media.

Digital Skills Are About Real Life Experience!

While tech developments involve traditional jobs cast into an often complex virtual world that is evolving at an incredible pace, students need to acquire practical, real-life skills that they can build on once they graduate. To support this connection to the reality of what is happening digitally, Webster recently took part in the Google Online Marketing Challenge 2015. The Webster team were lucky enough to be invited to get the insider scoop on digital marketing at Google's offices in Thailand.

It was also a case of hands-on learning at a workshop designed and run by AirAsia on how to utilize developing technology in business communications.

As a digitally-aware academic institution, Webster University Thailand's Animation BA tells the story of how students need to match their skills with what is happening in different industries and individual jobs. With new digital related courses being introduced for each new set of students, Webster prides itself on offering a dynamically animated learning environment.
