MACOM’s MACD-23528 Further Improves Performance and Margin for Video Formats up to 4k60p on a Single Link

LOWELL, Mass. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 12, 2015 — M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. (“MACOM”) (NASDAQ: MTSI), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for broadcast video infrastructure, today announced the availability of the MACD-23528A, a second generation 12G-SDI Cable Driver. This second generation cable driver exceeds all the physical layer specifications noted in the SMPTE ST 2081-1 and ST 2082-1 standards and further improves performance by increasing the output signal’s inner eye opening, lowering output jitter and extending cable reach.

The second generation MACD-23528A is offered in a 3mm x 3mm LFGA package. This packaging is footprint compatible with the first generation device, allowing early adopters of 12G-SDI to switch for the new device without any design changes necessary. In addition, both the first and second generation cable drivers are footprint compatible with MACOM’s 3G-SDI cable drivers, providing customers a seamless upgrade path from 3G to 12G. The MACD-23528 also incorporates a programmable pre-emphasis feature which allows customers to completely optimize performance based on their own unique board and connector configurations.
