Des Plaines, IL (September 18, 2015) The Inaugural GISCI Geospatial Core Technical Knowledge Exam® for the GISP Certification has been scheduled, and the Exam application period will start on Monday, September 21. Application Period: September 21 through October 9, 2015 (COB)
Exam Dates: Nov 12-17, 2015 (You will be authorized to schedule your specific Exam date and time after you have successfully applied with GISCI)
GISCI is looking for qualified individuals to take the Inaugural Exam (those who are able to meet the Portfolio Review requirements at the time of the exam). For those qualified individuals who pass the exam and complete their Portfolio Review, either prior to or within one year of the exam, GISCI will reimburse the $ 100 Application Fee and the $ 100 Portfolio Review Fee. Although anyone can sign up to take the Inaugural Exam, preference will be given to qualified individuals when assigning test seating dates.
GISCI will offer the GISCI Geospatial Core Technical Knowledge Exam® to individuals independent of the application for the portfolio review process. The exam will cover the following knowledge areas:
Conceptual Foundations
- Cartography and Visualization
- GIS Design Aspects and Data Modeling
- GIS Analytical Methods
- Data Manipulation
- Geospatial Data
The Inaugural Exam will be administered by PSI, an exam delivery company with test facilities across the US. Detailed information and test preparation materials will be available on the GISCI site.
