Xylon Introduces New Development Kit for Building Multi-Camera Embedded Vision Systems

Integrated kit accelerates development of embedded vision systems based on the Xilinx® Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC by providing comprehensive programmable platform, reference designs and Linux demo applications

Zagreb, Croatia - November 8, 2016 - Xylon, a leading provider of intellectual property (IP) cores, design services and solutions for Xilinx All Programmable FPGA and SoC devices, today announced the immediate availability of a powerful new development kit for building multi-camera embedded vision systems based on Xilinx All Programmable devices. Built around the Xilinx Zynq-7000 AP SoC, the new development kit enables system integrators and designers to get started quickly on their embedded vision designs for AD/ADAS, machine vision, AR/VR, guided robotics, drones and other vision applications.

The hardware contained within the kit includes the Xilinx ZC706 Evaluation Kit (OEM version), Xylon FMC board for six camera connections, Avnet® HDMI Input/Output FMC board, four Xylon 1-Mpix HDR video cameras, cables and the power supply.

Kit deliverables include the complete and licensed logADAK-VDF Video Design Framework with pre-verified reference designs for video capture and display output under the Linux operating system. The complete camera-to-display SoC designs, which are implemented by Xylon logicBRICKS IP cores, use just a fraction of available programmable logic and significantly save the design time and efforts. Instead of starting from scratch and having to spend months designing and building a new design framework, the logiVID-Z users can immediately focus on the specific vision processing and add it in the pre-built SoC infrastructure.

The logicBRICKS reference designs are prepared for the Xilinx Vivado® Design Suite and the SDSoC™ Development Environment. To provide the Xilinx SDSoC users the complete embedded C/C++ development experience and to demonstrate how to implement custom vision processing logic in software or in programmable logic, the supplied reference designs include the Sobel video processing example.
