Will AI Change The Human-Computer Interface Forever?

Artificial Intelligence, the term that has drawn all the attention of the tech enthusiast in 2017 and changed the way we used to imagine the future. Within a short period of time, the technology is being integrated into the devices and software for assistance. However, right now we are at the initial stage with the implementation of Artificial Intelligence but the tech giants are in continuous work to explore its full potential. From chatbots to the digital assistant AI have given an inevitable proof of becoming a dominating technology in the future. But, the question arises how exactly is Artificial Intelligence going to transform the world with its power?

By now, we have experienced that the AI-powered software and hardware systems enhance the human interface with the computer. With the help of deep learning and self-operating ability, the AI-powered devices are able to take commands other than typing or any hardware input. Artificial Intelligence is becoming the new Interface between and computers to enable for using the computer's efficiency up to its full potential. But do we know what exactly Artificial intelligence has exactly changed by now? And what it will do in the coming future?

Where most the tech leaders and companies are working day and night for AI Integration there are others who see it as a potential threat to humans life in the future. Recently, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Tesla Owner, Elon Musk got into a squabble over social media about the future of AI. There are more tech experts with Elon Musk, who believes that the continuous production and evolution of AI will become the reason for World War III and the world's destruction.

In 2017, Artificial Intelligence made people believe that the technology is full of endless application and can solve most of our problems. PwC shared a report stating that the technology will contribute $15 trillion to the global economy by 2030. According to the report, most of the people believe that AI will transform the world into something unimaginable. At present, the technology is adding another layer of self-operating intelligence to the system. Applications and software powered by AI enabled the users to interact more efficiently to perform sophisticated tasks and finding potential risk. Sean Nolan, founder, and CEO of Blink believes that the contemporary human-computer interface is slow and unproductive considering the computer’s true potential. He said, “The reality is that computers are so powerful and store so much information, and we need them to do so much, that our ability to utilize them with just a mouse and a keyboard is becoming insufficient.”

Currently, we already have software integrated with Artificial Intelligence to ease the user’s work with smarter assistance. The mobile app industry has adopted the AI instantly and invented the chatbots for users to give them a digital assistance on their smartphones. This breaks down the complex tasks into easy commands for the user with the AI operating interface. Recently, Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft talked about the implementation of AI into apps and how it will define the future of mobile app industry. Amazon’s Alexa, the digital assistance is another example of a new human-computer interface to perform tasks with voice commands using smart home products. Alexa is the AI-powered digital assistance, it responses to the user’s voice commands and controls all the smart home products of the user.

However, it is still unclear that how much time it will take to truly experience the full potential of Artificial Intelligence. Tech giants like Google, Apple, and Facebook have been investing millions in the AI project to change the world forever. Artificial Intelligence holds the key to simplify the human interaction with the computer in order to make less robotic and more humanely.
