Worldwide EDA Tech Forum Series Starts on March 16

WILSONVILLE, Ore.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Feb. 14, 2005— Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) and its industry partners today announced the start of the worldwide series of 2005 EDA Tech Forum(TM) conferences with the first event in Long Beach, California, on March 16. The event held at the Hilton Hotel Long Beach will feature two keynote speakers. Martin Reynolds, vice president and Gartner fellow at Gartner Dataquest, will talk about "Markets, Technologies and Products: Finding the Killer Apps." Larry Irving of the Irving Information Group will discuss "Wireless Growing Pains."

Irving's keynote will explore the key economic and technological trends affecting the evolution of wireless technologies in the United States and abroad. He will also address how the wireless industry is addressing obstacles and challenges, particularly wireless security and reliability. Reynolds will share Gartner's latest semiconductor forecast and suggest where product growth will come from. He will also look at emerging technologies in the wireless and computing space, to understand how businesses and consumers will find value from technology over the next five years.

Technical sessions and hands-on, self-paced workshops will address real-life design issues in IC nanometer design, functional verification, integrated system design, and emerging technologies, with presenters from companies such as Altera, Artisan Components now ARM, Chartered Semiconductor, The Mathworks, Mentor Graphics, and standard bodies such as VSIA and Accellera. The Long Beach forum is the first in a series of 18 technical conferences taking place throughout the world during 2005. The 2004 series attracted over 6,000 engineers.
