Blackman previously served the company as senior vice president of sales and marketing, a position he held since May 2004. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, partner strategy, and customer relations. During his tenure, company sales realized triple digit growth surpassing $40 million in the trailing four quarters and established the company as the leading software maker that connects people to government. Blackman was also elected as a member of the Accela board of directors.
Blackman began his career at Accela in 2000 as the company's vice president of marketing and business development, playing an instrumental role in an acquisition strategy that resulted in the merger of five companies into the Accela enterprise, growing the company installed base accounts to more than 500 agencies in North America. In 2004, Blackman led Accela to be a founding member of the Digital Communities Initiative with industry leaders such as Intel, Cisco, Panasonic, CDW-G, Intermec, and others.
