Transitive(R) Selects HP as Global Distributor for QuickTransit(R) Enterprise Cross-Platform Virtualization Product Line

LOS GATOS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Feb 20, 2008 -- Transitive® Corporation, the leading provider of cross-platform virtualization software that enables transportability of applications across multiple processor and operating system pairs, today announced the appointment of HP as a global distributor for its award-winning QuickTransit® enterprise product line.

With the appointment, Transitive will join three HP partner programs. The move reflects QuickTransit's value across a broad range of HP enterprise platforms. Since QuickTransit is often used to facilitate server consolidation projects that leverage fast, efficient and space-saving blade servers, Transitive has joined the HP BladeSystem Solution Builder Program. In addition, Transitive has been selected as one of a limited number of partners to join the exclusive HP ProLiant Advantage Partner Program and also was named an HP Integrity Ready Partner.

The global drive for increased IT efficiency and reduced carbon footprints has led most enterprise IT managers to define a proactive datacenter consolidation strategy that requires decommissioning of outdated hardware and the migration of legacy workloads to more energy-efficient, industry-standard platforms. Transitive's QuickTransit enterprise product line makes such transitions faster and easier, by providing support for the most common workload migration paths selected by enterprise customers, and many of those customers plan to consolidate their IT infrastructure on HP ProLiant, Integrity and BladeSystem servers.

"The appointment of HP as a global distributor for QuickTransit is a milestone event for Transitive, and reflects the growing momentum of our unique cross-platform virtualization solution in the enterprise datacenter market," said Bob Wiederhold, president and CEO of Transitive. "We look forward to working closely with HP to help enterprise customers worldwide standardize and consolidate their IT infrastructure with QuickTransit."

"Transitive's QuickTransit enterprise product line provides customers with a simple way to take better advantage of industry-leading HP servers," said Scott Farrand, vice president of industry standard server software, HP. "Using QuickTransit to run legacy Solaris/SPARC workloads without porting provides a compelling reason for customers to migrate from outdated platforms and refresh their server hardware sooner rather than later."

To reflect the most common customer deployment scenarios, Transitive offers three configurations of its QuickTransit enterprise product line: QuickTransit Workstation is intended for use on desktop and laptop PCs; QuickTransit Server is primarily used for large-scale datacenter consolidation projects; and QuickTransit Legacy is a specialized version intended for application re-hosting from extremely old legacy hardware running operating system versions that are no longer supported. The HP distribution agreement will cover all three QuickTransit configurations.

"AMD's Corporate Systems Operations team chose the combination of HP ProLiant DL585 servers with Transitive's QuickTransit as an effective solution to migrate a number of its legacy applications to the latest-generation hardware running AMD Opteron™ processors with outstanding performance and performance-per-Watt," said Shane Dickinson, IT Director, AMD. "This solution allowed AMD to move to a stable, high-performing hardware platform without going through any complicated porting requirements."

Transitive's distribution agreement with HP will take effect immediately, allowing the QuickTransit enterprise product line to be sold by HP and its channel partners worldwide. The QuickTransit product line is also available from Transitive directly, and its global network of reseller partners. Evaluation versions of QuickTransit can be downloaded from the Transitive Web site at: http://www.transitive.com/evaluate
