FREMONT, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — January 5, 2010 — ArcSoft, Inc., the world-leading multimedia software provider, announced today that its best-selling multimedia application, TotalMedia Theatre 3 will offer Blu-ray 3D playback capability when used in conjunction with a NVIDIA GeForce GPU and NVIDIA 3D Vision active-shutter glasses.

ArcSoft TotalMedia® Theatre 3 now supports NVIDIA’s cutting-edge 3D technology to provide dazzling 3D effects for movie entertainment on a desktop or notebook PC. Encoded in AVC-MVC, new Blu-ray 3D content can be decoded directly on NVIDIA GPUs, and viewed on the 3D Vision active shutter glasses, so consumers can enjoy a high definition 3D movie experience at home.

“NVIDIA has been very proactive and dedicated in Blu-ray 3D technology,” said George Tang, ArcSoft Vice President and General Manager of Video and Home Entertainment Group. “We are thrilled to partner with them so TotalMedia Theatre users can benefit from their Blu-ray 3D technology, getting ready for the new Blu-ray entertainment era.”

“We are excited about working with companies like ArcSoft to deliver a home 3D experience that is equal to or better than the experience you get in today’s movie theaters,” said Phil Eisler, General Manager of 3D Vision business unit at NVIDIA. “Together, ArcSoft and NVIDIA will help drive early adoption of viewing Blu-ray 3D content on the PC, which today continues to be the most powerful, flexible and versatile platform for doing everything in 3D, including movies, games, and photography.”
