January 22, 2010 -- The Google Street View car and the world’s most accurate mobile mapping system are just some of the latest innovations that will be on show at GEO-10. Phoenix Surveying Equipment, in partnership with Topcon, will be showcasing the IP-S2, more commonly known as the Google car, which is responsible for creating the images that let you view street level images and explore virtually any location from your desktop. 3D Laser Mapping will be demonstrating the performance and flexibility of StreetMapper and StreetMapper Portable, the mobile mapping system with 360 degree field of view capable of achieving accuracies of greater than 1cm in independent field trials.
GEO-10 combines a trade exhibition that has seen some of the most significant product launches and announcements over it’s twelve-year history. With two days of conference, a packed programme of free, show-floor seminars, live product demos and of course great networking opportunities including a Las Vegas themed Gala Evening of good food, fun and games. Taking place on 24 and 25 March 2010 at the Ricoh Arena Coventry, UK, host to last year’s GEO-9 that attracted nearly 700 visitors and exhibitors representing over 40 supplier companies and organisation, GEO-10 promises to deliver as the UK’s No 1 GEO Event.
Other companies that have selected GEO-10 as their preferred platform for product launches and demonstrations include Leica’s leading dealer SCCS, who will be showing the latest range of GNSS receivers and total stations including the high-precision TS30 and TM30 models launched at GEO-9 last year. FARO will be presenting the Photo 120 and 20 laser scanners and FARO Scene processing software. Pioneers in High Dynamic Range capture devices Spheron will be launching the latest versions of their StreetWorks solution and MH Surveys will be demonstrating their range of one-person lightweight manhole lifters.
Z+F will be launching the latest release of their LFM Modeller used to convert high resolution scan data into intelligent CAD models and South Surveys will be revealing an innovative, low cost alternative to traditional CAD Software and the latest range of plastic instrument cases. AiC will be demonstrating its AutoCAD based 4Site survey and data capture software and Opti-cal Survey Equipment, recently honoured in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 fastest growing companies. Other key players include UNIGIS, Ormtech, MiniPLAN and Kubit (a new exhibitor for 2010) will also be present.
“It is a credit to the geomatics industry that in the current economic climate GEO-10 will feature such a wide range of new products, technical innovations and proven solutions,” commented Stephen Booth of PV Publications, organisers of the event and publishers of Geomatics World, GIS Professional and Engineering Surveying Showcase. “We are confident that this year our high quality exhibitors, conference and show floor seminar programmes and exciting social events will attract a record number of visitors.”
GEO-10 is designed for everyone involved in the construction, civil engineering, development, local/national government agencies, professional survey practice and consultancy. With exhibitors demonstrating the latest technology and developments in the fields of Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning and Navigation systems, laser scanning, data modelling and analysis and mapping together with leading trade organisations and academic institutions GEO-10 is a must attend.
