NEP Broadcasting Rolls Out All New 3D Fleet

PITTSBURGH, July 1 — (PRNewswire) — This week, the Nation's first two mobile production trucks geared specifically for live 3D TV events hit the road.  NEP Broadcasting, the leading television production service provider, has revamped SS31, the first mobile 3D production truck, and built brand new SS32. These two cutting-edge production trucks will serve some of the most exciting 3D events across the country, starting with ESPN's 3D coverage of the Home Run Derby, to air on ESPN 3D on July 11th.

"ESPN has worked with NEP for three decades on major remote events across the United States, which now includes the exciting development of a 3D production truck that will be used during ESPN3D's inaugural year," says Vice President, Event Operations for ESPN, Chris Calcinari.

SS32, NEP's newest mobile 3D production truck, will serve as the primary mobile unit for ESPN's 3D coverage.  Equipped with the latest 3D imaging and camera rig technology from PACE, SS32 will offer a quick, flexible and powerful 3D solution.  With a variety of PACE 3D rigs that include Sony cameras and Fujinon lenses, EVS XT2plus servers, Sony SRW and Panasonic DCV Pro tape machines, a Sony MVS8000-X switcher, and a Calrec Alpha audio board with BlueFin, SS32 can handle any size production.

NEP has also revamped SS31, the first ever mobile production truck geared for live 3D TV events.  A flexible 3D solution, SS31 can serve any type of production no matter where it happens.  SS31 comes fully-equipped with the latest technology, including: a variety of 3D rig options, EVS XT2 servers, support for ten tape machines, a Sony MVS-8000 A switcher, and a Calrec Q2 audio console.

"We are thrilled that we have been able to expand the 3D services we can offer.  Now with two 3D production trucks, our remote 3D engineering expertise, and our in-depth experience with this emerging technology, NEP is able to serve our clients' 3D needs like no other in the television industry," says NEP Supershooters President, Michael Fernander.
