CAM Industry Leader DP Technology Corp., Maker of ESPRIT, Forms Partnership with ASCON, Maker of CAD Solution KOMPAS-3D

Camarillo, Calif. — Aug. 27, 2010 — DP Technology Corp., maker of ESPRIT® computer-aided-manufacturing software, and ZAO “LO CNITI,” an official distributor of ESPRIT in Russia, has partnered with leading Russian CAD/AEC/PLM vendor ASCON for joint promotional campaigns in Russia and internationally.

ESPRIT is a high-performance, full-spectrum CAM system for a full range of machine tool applications. OEM-endorsed ESPRIT drives machine tools in over 15,000 shops across the globe, and is available in more than 15 languages from over 200 resellers. The official ESPRIT distributor in Russia and CIS countries is ZAO “LO CNITI.”

ESPRIT delivers powerful full-spectrum programming for 2–5 axis milling, 2–22 axis turning, 2–5 axis wire EDM, multitasking mill-turn machining and B-axis machine tools, and high-speed 3- and 5-axis machining.

ESPRIT is available in the Russian language, including help files and documentation. With services from local partners, ESPRIT users in Russia receive the full complement of technical support, implementation, training, consulting and help with machining tasks and post-processing.

As a leading developer and integrator of professional CAD/AEC/PLM solutions, ASCON has offered CAD know-how (such as its own 2D- and 3D- mathematical core, parametrization technologies, data management, etc.) since 1989. KOMPAS-3D, ASCON’s award-winning CAD software solution, provides features for parametric 3D modelling; full-scale 2D design and drafting; and special add-ons for photo rendering, motion simulation, kinematic and dynamic analysis and import/export from other solutions.

KOMPAS-3D is famous for its powerful functionality in the mid-range CAD segment, as well as its ease-of-use, comfortable interface, reasonable price and strong compatibility functions.

DP Technology and ASCON have completed the first stage of integration between KOMPAS-3D and ESPRIT, and now recommend the powerful CAD/CAM bundle. The following video demonstrates the integration between the two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qjzRZm7dgc

Now all users of both types of software will benefit from the professional and cost-effective CAD/CAM solution set. KOMPAS-3D is a high-end, powerful mechanical computer-aided-design system for 3D solid modeling and 2D design.

“We see the real professionalism and a desire to work together from our new partner, the developer of ESPRIT software,” said Dmitry Osnach, marketing director at ASCON. “The integration work on their side was done quickly and perfectly. We truly appreciate their approach and plan further mutual steps for the promotion of our solutions both in Russia and internationally.”

“We are happy about our cooperation with ASCON and are sure that together we'll offer a unique CAD/CAM solution at a reasonable price,” said David Meynaud, who manages market development for DP Technology Europe. “Users of ESPRIT are able to open KOMPAS-3D native (.m3d) files and engineers for both companies continue to work for even closer integration of the software solutions.”

Andrey Lovygin, general director ZAO “LO CNITI,” comments on ESPRIT business development in Russia: “During the last five years, ESPRIT was distributed in Russia as an OEM solution. It was offered with leading machines such as Sodick, ONA and Mori Seiki. Thus, a lot of users in our country got a professional CAM solution, built into their machines, certified and tested by manufacturer post-processor and 3D-models.

The need for technical support, training and services for the existing regional customer base has surfaced and DP searched for partners in Russia. We became the official distributor, passed all the required trainings and created a professional local partnership network. We are especially glad to see ASCON among the ESPRIT dealers. We are launching trainings for ASCON staff in regional offices in our plans for an autumn 2010 opening of a joint CAD/CAM laboratory and the release of a special book devoted to computer-aided design and manufacturing.”

ASCON customers prove there is a need for the KOMPAS-3D and ESPRIT CAD/CAM bundle. Natalie Balakova, chief of the CNC department at “Sevkavrentgen-D” (Mayski City, Kabardino-Balkaria Republic) said: “Our enterprise has used KOMPAS-3D solutions for several years. Some time ago, we purchased HAAS machines and searched out a CAM solution. The key parameters we looked at were integration with KOMPAS-3D, powerful functionality and an affordable price. After the trial period, we chose ESPRIT and purchased three seats.”

Further plans for cooperation between ASCON and DP Technology include launching a new Web site devoted to ESPRIT and KOMPAS-3D solutions, as well as a series of training webinars for ASCON regional offices and partners. In October, the companies expect to open a CAD/CAM laboratory at which customers will familiarize themselves with KOMPAS-3D and ESPRIT, and see the live complex process of modern designing and machining.
