Richmond, B.C. — October 05, 2010 — MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd.
(TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that its U.S. operation, MDA Information Systems, Inc. has been awarded a contract to provide an advanced information solution to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Army Geospatial Center (AGC).
The information solution will provide a demonstration system to display the capability of receiving MDA’s RADARSAT-2 and DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-2 data using a very small, tactically deployable, mobile ground station.
Upon the successful demonstration of the information solution, AGC may procure multiple units for international deployment.
Herb Satterlee, the president of MDA Information Systems, Inc. said, ‘This contract marks a key step in establishing a new U.S. mobile ground terminal presence by providing the U.S. Army a rapidly deployable turnkey system.’
