Michigan US Governor Jennifer Granholm Visits Dassault Systèmes Headquarters in France

European Investment Mission Focus on Innovation for Sustainability

VÉLIZY-VILLACOUBLAY, France – October 20, 2010 Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that U.S. Governor Jennifer M. Granholm toured the Dassault Systèmes headquarters here last week as part of an investment mission in Europe designed to encourage new investments and job growth in the state of Michigan. Governor Granholm attended the Paris Auto Show and met with European business executives to promote Michigan as the center of automotive innovation and manufacturing in the U.S., including vehicle electrification and advanced battery manufacturing. Dassault Systèmes, with major operations in Auburn Hills, Michigan is a leading provider of PLM solutions to over 75 percent of worldwide automotive OEMs and their suppliers, with a focus on global collaboration and innovation.

Bernard Charlès, President and CEO of Dassault Systèmes said, “We were very honored to host Governor Granholm at the Dassault Systèmes campus in Paris and were pleased that her economic mission included spending time at our headquarters and experiencing the 3DS vision in person. The governor witnessed first-hand the product innovation and lifelike experience that we bring to our customers in every industry with our PLM 2.0 offer.   For the automotive industry in particular – with its roots in her home state of Michigan – the governor could see how Dassault Systèmes brings a clear economic benefit to companies that have been impacted by recent events.”

Following her tour of the Dassault Systemes headquarters, Governor Granholm commented, “The imagination and innovation that goes on here is second to none.  For the automotive industry, she said, “Dassault Systèmes is encouraging global collaboration using 3D as the common language, which ensures that everyone is working together to bring the best innovations to life, in the most cost efficient manner.”

Jennifer M. Granholm was elected governor in 2002 and re-elected in 2006 with the largest number of votes ever cast for governor in Michigan. With the crisis in the auto industry and the global shift in manufacturing jobs to low wage countries, Michigan has had the toughest economy in the nation.  Governor Granholm has worked relentlessly to diversify Michigan’s economy seeking to add specific emerging sectors to Michigan's economic base.
