ESRI UK to speak at AGI National Conference of Location Economics 2010
ESRI UK public sector strategist to address AGI delegates on developing a business case to support geospatial technology investment

November 01, 2010 — ESRI UK today announces that Dr. Keith Wishart, Public Sector Strategist at ESRI UK, will speak at the AGI National Conference of Location Economics 2010, taking place on 2nd November in London.

Dr. Wishart’s speech will challenge the perception by the geographic information (GI) industry that the merits of investing in geospatial technologies cannot be measured, by arguing that intangible benefits can be evaluated, demonstrating real value for money for businesses. He will also advise delegates on how to develop a strong business case to support the implementation of geospatial applications by focusing on industry case studies.

Dr. Wishart has over 12 years’ experience of GI strategy and application across both the public and private sectors. He is also an active member of the leading UK technology industry body, Intellect, sitting on both the Software and Government Management teams.

The AGI National Conference on Location Economics 2010, entitled: ‘Exploiting Location Information To Save Your Organisation Money’ is a one day event which will examine the growing evidence that geospatial information can make real savings with rapid payback of investment in many applications.

The AGI Conference will feature plenary presentations from a range of visionary speakers such as Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), British Waterways and South Yorkshire Police, who have successfully developed robust financial business cases for the benefits of using geospatial information.
