November 02, 2010 — By participating in a variety of ways at Ecobuild America, Esri will educate attendees on how GIS (Geographic Information Systems) applications can help improve the services, project delivery and ongoing management of our built environment. A major corporate sponsor of the event running December 6-10, 2010 in Washington, D.C., Esri is pleased to participate in the conference and appreciates its unique emphasis on BIM (building information modeling).
Founder and president of Esri Jack Dangermond, will assist with BIM education by presenting a keynote address “The Convergence of GIS and BIM.” Mr. Dangermond fostered the growth of ESRI from a small research group to an organization of more than 5,000 employees worldwide. He and his organization are known internationally for GIS software development, training, and services
In the Ecobuild America exhibit hall, Esri will demonstrate the benefits of spatial and location-based analysis in the special exhibit area called Esri World. In this multi-vendor area, Esri and several of their partners will demonstrate integrated GIS solutions to the building and construction community. Ecobuild is managed by AEC Science & Technology, whose owners produced the very successful Esri World expos in the 1990’s as part of the A/E/C SYSTEMS tradeshows.
