TECTERRA Announces Funding for Geomatics Applied Research Projects at SAIT

CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Jan 10, 2012 -- TECTERRA Inc. announced today a new Call for Proposals (CFP) to fund geomatics applied research at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). The CFP is for commercialization of geomatics products and services for integrated resource management. The SAIT Applied Research Funding Program is the result of the master agreement TECTERRA signed in December 2011 with SAIT to fund applied geomatics research.

"This program extends the reach of TECTERRA's support to geomatics applied research at one of Alberta's leading polytechnic institutes. We continue to help bring innovative geomatics technology to critical resource management applications in the province," said Dr. Mohamed Abousalem, Chief Executive Officer of TECTERRA.

Applicants under this call for proposals will be principal investigators from SAIT working in partnership with a Canadian company and/or an end-user government agency to address a specific resource management operational challenge or a significant market need.

The funded projects will be a great training opportunity for current and recently-graduated SAIT students to engage in practical geomatics applications and apply their technical and vocational skills in real-life applications.

Project funding will range from $50K to $300K, depending on the scope and duration of the project. Interested parties can apply for the SAIT Applied Research Funding Program by clicking the link below.
