October 29, 2012 - Missler Software and DMG Electronics are happy to announce the availability of a new interface between TopSolid’Cam and the DMG Virtual Machining Simulator (DMG Virtual Machine) to improve machine simulation visualization. The development of this interface enables the direct verification of the ISO code developed by TopSolid’Cam post-processors on DMG machining centers. The part and machine environment simulation already provided by TopSolid’Cam together with the advanced ISO simulation provided by the DMG Virtual Machine will no doubt help reduce potential collisions.
The new interface enables TopSolid’Cam operators to open the DMG Virtual Machine directly from TopSolid’Cam while they are working with TopSolid. This offers a maximum level of integration and interoperability for TopSolid’Cam and DMG/MORI SEIKI respective users who will no longer have to waste precious set-up time. The DMG Virtual machine is used to simulate the ISO code to detect errors and potential collisions before the program is loaded on the DMG machining center.
The new interface results directly from requests from TopSolid’Cam customers to create this interface in order to improve turnaround times and thereby achieve significant productivity gains. In order to develop this interface, Missler Software provided DMG Electronics with the TopSolid’Cam generated ISO code, the shape of tools and attachments used, the stock and the finished product.

About the DMG Virtual Machine
The DMG Virtual Machine integrates geometry, kinematics and dynamics of the real machines, as well as the functionalities of CNC and PLC in one continuous virtual process chain. With the DMG Virtual Machine, all activities and processes of your assembly can be safely planned and verified. Avoiding collisions and recording all functions of the machines that are already on the screen, allows you the highest measure of safety in planning and implementation, as well as new opportunities in the training of your employees. Whether your NC programs are made available from a CAM-program or created directly on the CNC controls, you can see in advance how your processes will function later on the shop floor.
