December 3, 2012 - OPEN MIND Technologies USA, Inc. will present hyperMILL® at the Iniram Precision Turbomachinery Technology Event on December 5 and 6 in Peabody MA. Iniram is a vertical-technology supplier covering many machining and machine tool technologies, mostly from Germany.
OPEN MIND has programmed an aero-engine style blisk using high performance roughing techniques that are commonly used in the mold and die, and aero-structure industries. The hyperMAXX® high-performance roughing implementation within hyperMILL, based on Celeritive Technologies’ Volumill™ kernel, provides high material removal rates and increased cutter life. Recent enhancements to hyperMAXX also include implementation for multi-axis, and techniques to leave uniform material for subsequent finishing operations.
Existing registrants for this event cover the aero-engine and power generation markets. In addition to machining demonstrations, OPEN MIND will also have a short presentation and a table display where attendees can learn more about the technology.
The 750 mm diameter blisk will be machined on a Hermle C60U milling machine with Heidenhain control. Other innovative technologies include milling cutters from Iruba Innovations and Cool Clean CO2-based coolant.
