February 13, 2012 - OPEN MIND Technologies USA, Inc. will present hyperDENT 2012 at Lab Day Chicago MDM 2013 on February 22 and 23 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel. Lab Day is a unique venue for dental lab management and staff, and for technology suppliers to these labs and milling centers.
OPEN MIND will demonstrate the latest version of hyperDENT, which is an open-architecture CAD/CAM software product for dental restorative components. As an open system, hyperDENT can work with essentially any scanner and design system by reading STL files or by direct system translators with many popular dental CAD systems that can bring in components geometry and other meta-data such as cavity and occlusal indications, orientation, and part material

hyperDENT can also operate on many milling machines, ranging from 3-axis through 5-axis table top systems to full industrial machine tools from DMG Sauer, Agie-Charmilles Mikron, or Roeders that include part automation. hyperDENT is a niche product for dental restorative components, but is based on internal cutting strategies from the successful hyperMILL® industrial CAM software, as well as using hyperMILL postprocessor and simulation tools.
Recent enhancements to hyperDENT have focused on requirements for implant abutments and abutment bars, including handling of abutment interface geometry. The system provides two options for interface geometry. Users may exchange their geometry in place of default “dummy” geometry, or geometry for various interface styles can be purchased as an option to the software.
A series of templates have been developed and are available for the Datron D5 milling center. This machine provides users with high performance, yet a simple operating environment. The Datron D5 system prefers a semi-closed process, and these templates have been approved for use within that system.
