Kozio Announces Verification and Test support for Xilinx Zynq®-7000

- Kozio provides Verification and Test OS (VTOS™) support for the Xilinx Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoCs.

LONGMONT, Colo., Oct. 2, 2013 — (PRNewswire) — Kozio ( www.kozio.com), a leader in verification and test software solutions, for SoC, FPGA, and PCB designs, announces support for the Xilinx Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoCs through its Verification and Test OS (VTOS™) package. The Xilinx Zynq-7000 combines the benefits of an ARM® Cortex™-A9 processor based system-on-chip (SoC) with the flexibility and scalability of a field programmable gate array (FPGA). Xilinx Zynq designs can now benefit from the verification power of VTOS in design, production, and field deployment.

VTOS is an embedded software application targeted for a specified SoC. VTOS provides a verification platform with deterministic test results, low-level commands for full hardware access, built-in system-level tests, test case development and extensions via run-time scripting, FPGA programming, fast file transfers to the prototype, and both interactive and programmatic user interfaces. The VTOS Suite of tools are easy to install and easy to configure for your prototype, allowing designers to focus on discovering and correcting faults using a fast and lightweight verification toolset.

"The Zynq-7000 provides unprecedented capability for programmable embedded designs by delivering a very flexible multi-core processing platform," said Joe Skazinski, chief technology officer at Kozio. "We designed our verification platform to be very adaptable and extremely flexible.  It allows our customers to deliver highly optimized hardware solutions with significantly less development effort."

Kozio's Verification and Test OS (VTOS™), and system-level functional test library, for the Zynq-7000 is available now. VTOS can be demonstrated running on the Cadence Virtual System Platform or the community-based ZedBoard.

VTOS can be utilized by SoC or FPGA designers for pre-silicon verification under simulation, and the same repeatable test scenarios can be executed on post-silicon board designs, providing a company-wide test strategy spanning each phase of the product lifecycle. Using this verification platform, the hardware design team and test team can validate all aspects of the hardware design with no dependence on application software. With early access to hardware verification, extremely fast boot and test times, an easily extensible software platform, and superior visibility and control, this verification platform reduces test development time and production test times.

About Kozio, Inc.
Kozio is the leading provider of software solutions for embedded hardware design verification and production test.  Kozio's technology includes a Verification and Test OS (VTOS) - a packaged solution that combines a special purpose OS with a comprehensive peripheral and processor functional test library. VTOS provides a powerful, user configurable verification environment for boot, system-level test execution, file transfer and interactive debug. VTOS is designed specifically for the purpose of hardware design verification to ensure design correctness, performance and reliability. VTOS replaces the traditional methods of creating one-off test programs or using the application OS as the hardware test platform. VTOS can also be utilized for pre-silicon or post-silicon verification, for production test, and field delivered self-test, making the technology reusable amongst or across teams.
