PLM Journal reaches its 50th Edition

Oxford, England. October 16, 2013

Monday's publication of the PLM Financial Primer ( see MCADCafe) is the 50th edition of the PLM Journal.

Launched in 2004 as the monthly "house magazine" of the PLM Interest Group, it covered the main issues of the time (starting with the challenge of defining PLM itself); interviews and viewpoint articles by users and vendors; and reports from PLMIG events.

As PLMIG initiatives began to bring more structure and accuracy to PLM knowledge, the Journal changed to match.  By 2009 it had adopted a quarterly "text book" format designed to be used directly within user companies, and as a neutral reference point by vendors and advisers across the industry.

The 50 PLM Journal issues now include:-
  • the PLM Manager's Handbook [3 editions]
  • PLMuERP Primer
  • PLM and PDM Project Management
  • Path to PLM
  • SME PLM Handbook
  • PLM Best Practice Library
  • CEO Briefing Document
  • Building a Standardised PLM Environment
  • PLM Standards for Governance and Product Structure
The back catalogue through to 2007 also contains many informed views of the evolving issues of PLM, which can provide some very useful insights into the way that PLM has developed over the past ten years.

The two forthcoming issues for 2013 will include more material from the PLM Financial Framework initiative.

More information about the PLM Journal from 2004 to 2013 is available on the PLMIG web site.
