Havok™ Invites Game Developers to Compete for a Grand Prize of $100,000 in the Project Anarchy™ Mobile Game Dev Challenge

Submissions Now Open to Game Developers Using Project Anarchy, Havok’s Free 3D Mobile Game Production Engine

SAN FRANCISCO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 17, 2013 — Havok™, a leading provider of game development technologies, announced today that it has opened submissions for the Project Anarchy Mobile Game Dev Challenge, giving game developers the chance to win a grand prize of $100,000 from a total cash prize pool of $150,000. Details on the contest and Project Anarchy can be found at: www.projectanarchy.com/contest.

The Project Anarchy Mobile Game Dev Challenge is scheduled to run from October 17, 2013 to May 31, 2014. The contest will offer a two-phase submission process. Entrants who submit their games for an optional early review by February 1, 2014 will receive free developer feedback from the team at Havok, and will be considered for select marketing/PR support, including the possibility of having their games showcased at the Havok booth during the 2014 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The final submission deadline for all entries is May 31, 2014. See official rules for details.

“Project Anarchy was created to eliminate the barrier of entry for developers to make quality mobile games easily and affordably, and the Development Challenge is one more step towards inspiring the community to develop creative new titles using this powerful tool-set,” said Ross O’Dwyer, Head of Developer Relations at Havok. “It’s exciting to see teams take to these tools, and build mobile games with the scope and ambition usually seen on consoles and PCs. Best of luck to all of the developers entering the competition. We look forward to seeing some more great titles made with Project Anarchy.”

Ten finalists will be announced on June 16, 2014, with the final winners being announced on June 24, 2014. Prizes will be awarded by a judging panel made up of industry veterans representing a variety of disciplines from art and design to programming and business. Each entry will be judged on several criteria, including entertainment value, visual design and originality.

Project Anarchy includes Havok’s Vision Engine together with access to Havok’s industry-leading suite of Physics, Animation and AI tools as used in cutting-edge franchises such as Skyrim™, Halo, Assassin’s Creed®, Uncharted and Skylanders. With features like an extensible C++ architecture, a flexible asset management system, support for Autodesk FBX, advanced Lua debugging and customizable game samples and tutorials, and a full fmod® integration for audio, Project Anarchy offers game developers the ability to quickly iterate on their ideas and create incredible gaming experiences. Titles developed with Project Anarchy on iOS, Android, Android-x86 and Tizen can be created and deployed for free, with additional platforms available as a separate purchase.
