Things heat up in the KUKA Robotics booth with the debut of the new KR 5 Arc R 1400 at FABTECH. The KR 5 arc R1400 is the latest in the family of arc welding robots from KUKA. The KR5 arc R1400 sets the benchmark with compact design, low weight, speed, high repeatability and a reach of 1400mm; it's ideal for the closest of cell concepts. Accompanying the KR 5 arc R1400's space saving efforts is the utilization of the new small size KRC4 controller measuring in at 550mm in width and 4185mm in height will also make its debut. Things heat up in the KUKA Robotics booth with the debut of the new KR 5 Arc R 1400 at FABTECH. The KR 5 arc R1400 is the latest in the family of arc welding robots from KUKA. The KR 5 arc R1400 sets the benchmark with compact design, low weight, speed, high repeatability and a reach of 1400mm; it’s ideal for the closest of cell concepts. Accompanying the KR 5 arc R1400’s space saving efforts is the utilization of the new small size KRC4 controller measuring in at 550mm in width and 4185mm in height will also make its debut.

Heat builds and sparks fly in a large live arc welding demonstration showcasing 4 of KUKA’s top performers creating 36 inch diameter, sun sculptures. Construction starts with the KR 6 R900 sixx loading blanks into a cutting station fitted with a KR 16 utilizing an ESAB PowerCut 1300 PlasmArc cutting package to cut the fiery shaped rays of the sun while a KR 6 AGILUS waits nearby to move the ray into position for the KR 5-2 arc HW to weld it directly into place. The process will be repeated 28 times to complete one sculpture. The sculptures will be given away upon completion of the show.

KUKA will also display the KR AGILUS KR 6 R900 sixx and the KR 6 R700 sixx in a portable training carts, ideally used for the education market, attendees will be able to use the KUKA smart pad for “test driving” the KR AGILUS.

Other demonstrations on the show floor will include Official System Partner ESAB Welding & Cutting Products (booth # N1449 / N1145) showcasing the Swift Arc ML robotic cell comprised of ESAB Aristo® U5000i power source, KUKA KR 6 900 robot and KR C4 Controller, This complete work cell is economically configured for education. It is delivered ready for use; simply hook up the input power, gas, and wire to begin welding. ESAB in partnership with Official KUKA System Partner Arc Specialties will also showcase an advanced robotic plasma cutting cell. This new robotic cutting cell provides the flexibility to automatically cut or “cope” branch pipes, cut trunk pipes (with or without bevel), and cut to length, ideal for job shops introducing robotics to their applications. It features a KR 16 HW and a KR C4 Controller.

A KR 30 will be featured in the Eaton Leonard booth (booth # 3923), Official System Partner IPG Photonics Corporation (booth # 1474) will feature a KR 10 R1100 AGILUS interfaced with a two-axis positioner and 20kW QCW IPG laser doing laser drilling, Destaco (booth # N1846) will feature a KR 16, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in the North Hall Entrance will feature a KR AGILUS KR 6 R700 simulating industrial technologies such as laser cutting, water jet cutting, polishing and de-burring.

The KUKA Robotics System Partner network is designed to mutually benefit each organization’s users by extending the way customers can acquire tailored solutions with the major competitive and technological advantage of high precision KUKA robots. The KUKA Robotics System Partner Network includes experienced OEM machine builders, system providers, application specialists and expert robot integrators.
