IEC ELECTRONICS CORP. FIRST TO EARN CERTIFICATION AS QUALIFIED MANUFACTURER TO IPC J-STD-001/IPC-A-610

Recognized as IPC-Trusted Source and QML-Listed

BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, March 20, 2014 — IPC’s Validation Services Program has awarded the first IPC J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML) to IEC Electronics Corporation’s Newark, New York and Albuquerque, New Mexico, facilities. In addition, IEC Electronics’ testing laboratory, Dynamic Research and Testing Laboratories (DRTL) in Albuquerque has been certified as an IPC-approved Validation Services Test Laboratory.

IPC President and CEO John Mitchell will present certificates to IEC Electronics during the Opening Keynote Session at IPC APEX EXPO® on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

“IEC Electronics is honored to be the first company certified under the IPC QML Validation Program. This certification recognizes consistency in our global footprint, and identifies the level of our product quality for our customers throughout our supply chain. This certification serves as a testament to IEC’s excellence in electronics assembly, and builds critical awareness of the level of quality needed in the EMS community,” said Mark Northrup, vice president of technical operations and strategy at IEC Electronics Corp.

IEC Electronics’ Newark and Albuquerque facilities were the first sites to undergo IPC’s Validation Services assessment/audit which is based on IPC J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies and IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies Class 3 requirements. The company will be listed as an IPC-trusted source on IPC’s online QML.

IEC Electronics is among the first companies to participate in IPC’s new Validations Services QPL/QML Program which was launched in 2013. Developed to promote supply chain verification, the program provides auditing and certification of electronics companies’ products and processes which conform to IPC standards.

“Different from other audit programs, IPC’s Validation Services Program uniquely provides technical and in-depth assessments of products and processes in accordance with IPC standards,” said Randy Cherry, IPC director of Validation Services. “We are pleased to recognize IEC Electronics as the first member of IPC’s network of trusted QML suppliers.”
