Madison Media Institute Team Advances to Filmapalooza 2015

MADISON, Wis. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 16, 2014 — Imagination Upgraded, a team of alumni and students from Madison Media Institute (MMI), took first place in the Milwaukee 48 Hour Film Project for their film “Vial Vile”. The 48 Hour Film Project is the world’s largest timed filmmaking competition. For winning the local competition, the team from MMI received an exclusive invitation to attend Filmapalooza 2015, the international film festival and awards finale, held in Hollywood at the end of the tour.

Imagination Upgraded won several awards for the Madison 48 Hour Film Project before moving up to the Milwaukee competition. Alex Kudrna also received Best Director accolades in Milwaukee as he coordinated with supervised alum and students Spencer Christoffel, Sarah Dopf, Ben Klemmer, Dave Reiling, Brandon “Champ” Robinson, Jonathan Schaub, Emma Siewert and Randy Stewart.

“These students have provided amazing examples of cinematic work. They understand the amount of work and effort the industry requires. The champion of the challenge will win a spot on the big screen at the Cannes International Film Festival, $5,000 USD and lifelong bragging rights for winning a renowned international film contest.
