Vanessa Friedman said: “In the same way that The New York Times connects the world for readers, and to readers, this conference will look at how luxury connects to the rest of the world -- be it art, technology, invention or the environment. Through a vibrant mix of speakers from different sectors, we will trace the lines between the external forces redrawing the industry.”
The conference will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Miami hotel on the eve of Art Basel Miami Beach, the annual winter gathering place for the creative industries. Art will be a focus both on the conference program but also in the event space itself, with renowned curator Francesco Bonami inviting artists to present their performing work as pop-up performances which will function as surprising and entertaining intermissions at key points during the conference.
