Photo Walks
Wednesday, October 298:30 -11:30 a.m. (Appropriate for All Levels)
Try new products and gear during one of six private photo walks, each limited to 25 participants and led by some of the industry's best photographers (listed below). Use the New York City streets as your backdrop to learn lighting, portraiture, composition, and design that brings "street photography" to a new level.

David Carol -- Street Photography: "Love the Process"
For David Carol, the most important aspect of street photography is noticing the world around him and showing the viewer something they may not have seen otherwise. His goal during this photo walk is for participants to harness the environment at hand, to focus on, and expand their unique visions for making thought-provoking imagery.

Ruddy Roye -- Giving Words to the Portrait As a writer first, Roye recently rediscovered the art of layering a portrait with text that not only embellishes the image, but creates a greater understanding of a person and their culture. During this fun-filled photo walk, you will learn Roye's technique for sitting with a person and gleaning snippets of their life in order to give the portrait greater meaning.

Moshe Zusman -- Off-Camera Lighting for Portraiture & Fashion Moshe Zusman will show participants how to light in a variety of challenging situations. Moving beyond natural light, he'll encourage the combined use of strobes and ambient light for the perfect portrait shot. While working with speedlites and strobes, Zusman will outline the basics and demystify the dreaded "dark hours."

Giulio Sciorio -- Street Photography - Animated!
In this special photo walk led by Lumix Luminary Giulio Sciorio, participants will learn a new and exciting way to create in the age of screens by adding a new dimension to their street photography - animation. Learn when and how to light with LED's and strobes instead of relying on natural light to get the shot as well as the difference between shooting motion like a photographer and like a filmmaker, among other tips.

Zach Arias -- Exploring the Urban Landscape
Join Zack Arias in his favorite city in the world. Zack will be working with minimal gear and small cameras, describing what he looks for as well as tips and tricks for street and travel photography when in an urban area. Zack will be demonstrating his simplistic approach to one of his favorite things to do. Bring your camera, but keep it simple, he will be moving fast!

Brooke Shaden -- Creating Art Anywhere The streets of New York City can be a difficult place to let loose and create art. There are people everywhere, small and crowded spaces, and light that can be inconsistent. Brooke will take participants on a journey searching for unsuspecting places to shoot a fairytale-inspired image, making sure the light is consistent, the shots are clear of people, and that you turn a modern NYC street into a timeless and beautiful set.
