Buddhist Sculptures, Snuff Bottles And Chinese Paintings Highlight Auctionata's First Asian Art Sale From New York

NEW YORK, Dec. 9, 2014 — (PRNewswire) — Auctionata successfully completed its first U.S.-based Asian Works of Art auction Monday evening, from 7 PM to 8:50 PM EST. Broadcasted live online from the New York studio, the auction was led by auctioneer Steve Brezzo and Auctionata's Head of Sale and Asian Art specialist, Phyllis Kao. The sale of traditional and contemporary objects, both functional and beautifully crafted, attracted global attention from over 200 registered bidders, including Switzerland, Belgium, Russia, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia.

"The results of this auction confirm that the Asian art market remains buoyant," says Phyllis Kao, Auctionata's Asian Arts specialist. "The representative lots in this auction – which include Tibetan works of art, Chinese export, Buddhist objects, later Qing dynasty porcelains and textiles – have been garnering interest over the past year. The Chinese classical paintings, such as the 20th century Dedication Painting attributed to Wang Xuetao, the archer's rings and agate shadow snuff bottles in this sale exemplify the continuing appeal of Asian objects globally, and these will only continue to grow in popularity."
