OSU's Wexner Medical Center Features State-of-the-Art LED Mosaic

New James Cancer Hospital LED Video Used for Donor Recognition Wall

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 8, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- As part of the new Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital on the campus of Ohio State University, S|N|A manufactured and supplied a unique LED video display. The art deco-style installation features a 15-display LED mosaic, which complements the state-of-the-art interior architecture of the hospital unit.

According to the OSU Wexner Medical Center's website, the James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute is one of the nation's premier centers for the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer.

The custom S|Video™ display was incorporated as a donor recognition wall for the hospital. Show+Tell, designed the dynamic mosaic, creating a sleek and flexible recognition medium.

Each display employs surface-mount display (SMD) technology, where the LEDs in each pixel are packaged together, allowing for crisp, clear imagery and a widened viewing experience. Additionally, all displays have a 6 mm pixel pitch.

All displays, installed by Trademark Branding Company, are 32 pixels high and range from 160 pixels to 448 pixels wide. There are 140,288 physical pixels in the display. However, because the "blank" spaces in the mosaic are also included in the rendered content, the recognition wall processes more than 400,000 pixels.

In addition, the display cabinets were custom-designed to match components of the interior architecture and are finished with a clear, anodized look.

"These displays complement the new state-of-the-art facilities at the hospital," said S|N|A's Greg Ludwig, project manager for the LED manufacturer. "A dynamic and changeable donor recognition wall will be a great asset to the hospital, in terms of ease of use as well as look and feel."
