USGIF Opens 2015 Awards Program

Foundation now accepting nominations for achievements in GEOINT

Herndon, Virginia, Jan. 20, 2015 — The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is now accepting nominations for its 2015 Awards Program.

The USGIF Awards Program annually recognizes the exceptional work of the geospatial intelligence tradecraft’s brightest minds. The program acknowledges outstanding accomplishments in four categories: geospatial intelligence achievement (military, government, and industry); geospatial administrative/ support; academic achievement; and academic research.

“I’ve had the honor to present these awards to 50-plus individuals and teams,” said Kevin Jackson, chair of USGIF’s Awards Subcommittee. “This program represents pride, excitement, accomplishment, recognition, and humility—that’s what I’ve seen on the faces and heard from the voices of the awardees for the last 10 years. Please take this time to nominate your colleagues, peers, teammates, technologies, research, and programs in support of this awards program. We look forward to adding the 2015 awardees to our long list of outstanding achievements.”

Anyone associated with the GEOINT Community may apply for or nominate an individual or team for an achievement award. Nomination forms for each category can be downloaded via USGIF.org. Forms are due March 27 at 5 p.m. EST.

The USGIF Awards Subcommittee selects award recipients, and awards will be presented on stage during the general session at the GEOINT 2015 Symposium, taking place June 22-25 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
