Canon EOS 5DS and EOS 5DS R
The EOS 5DS camera features Canon's newest full-frame CMOS sensor. At 50.6 Megapixels, it's the highest resolution sensor in the history of EOS. It captures 8712 x 5813 effective pixels, delivering images with an unprecedented level of realism perfect for large-scale commercial printing, fine art, significant crops and any number of other high-end applications. Thanks to this amazing sensor, engineered to work in concert with dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors, the EOS 5DS is a remarkable, high-resolution camera with impressive performance.

The EOS 5DS camera has an amazing iSA Intelligent Scene Analysis system that employs an independent RGB+IR light sensor with approximately 150,000-pixel resolution. This sensor enables Canon's Intelligent Tracking and Recognition system (iTR AF) that detects and tracks subjects, automatically switching the AF point to optimize tracking. With new tracking algorithms tailored to recognize faces and colors, this system serves as a brilliant foundation to the EOS 5DS's AF system, a 61-point High Density Reticular AF system with up to 41 cross-type AF points.

With all the features and capabilities of the EOS 5DS, the EOS 5DS R camera offers the potential for even greater sharpness and fine detail for specialized situations. It features the same Canon designed and manufactured 50.6 Megapixel sensor with the low-pass filter* (LPF) effect cancelled to provide even more fine edge sharpness and detail for critical subjects such as detailed landscapes, and other situations where getting the sharpest subject detail is a priority.

Product Highlights:

  • 50.6 Megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor
  • 61-Point high density reticular AF
  • EOS Scene Detection system
  • Built-in intervalometer and bulb timer
  • Advanced mirror control and selectable shutter release lag-time for suppressing camera vibration
  • Full HD video with time-lapse function
  • Anti-flicker function for exposure and color consistency during continuous shooting

  • High-speed continuous shooting up to 5.0 fps

  • 3.2-inch ClearView II LCD monitor, 170 degrees viewing angle

The Canon EOS 5DS will retail for USD 3,699.00, and the Canon EOS 5DS R will retail for USD 3,899.00. Sign up at http://www.adorama.com/pages/canon-5d-preorder-notify to be notified when Adorama starts accepting pre-orders.

Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM zoom lens
The new Canon L-series ultra-wide zoom lens with an impressive 11mm starting focal length delivers high quality, expressive images. Its new optical design and the use of one Super UD element and one UD lens element helps significantly reduce chromatic aberration, while four aspheric lens elements help minimize distortion from the center of the image to the periphery and across the entire zoom range. Additional Subwavelength Coating and Air Sphere Coating help to significantly reduce flare and ghosting.

The EF 11-24mm lens is highly resistant to dust and water, making it amazingly durable even in harsh shooting conditions. Its inner focusing, ring USM, a high-speed CPU and optimized AG algorithms provide fast and accurate autofocusing, while a full-time manual focus feature allows for manual adjustments while in AF mode. And its minimum focusing distance of 11 in./0.28m (at 24mm) is ideal for shooting in tight spaces.

With a compact design that includes an integrated hood and compatibility with all EOS cameras, the EF 11-24mm f/4L USM is a must-have lens for photographers that demand excellent performance. The EF 11-24mm f/4L lens is expected to ship at the end of February 2015 and retails for USD 2,999.00.
