Smart Power Metering: First Silicon IP provider to announce range 1/5,000 with 0.05 % accuracy for a complete solution

Grenoble, France – February 23, 2015-- Dolphin Integration, leading provider for high-resolution converters, announces silicon-proven Virtual Component of IP targeting the growing market of Smart meters, such as Utility billing meters or Smart plugs.

The state-of-the-art  Metro-PM-Jade-mono.05, featuring a complete measurement subsystem for single-phase power metering ICs, is available for Fabless and SoC integrators in technological processes at 180 nm and 130 nm. Users of Metro-PM-Jade-mono.05 benefit from a high-resolution Mixed-signal Front-End (sensAFE-20x32-PM-mono.05-LB) and a dense Power and energy Computation Engine (PCE-PM.01). Furthermore, this product embeds a low-drift voltage reference and a low-noise voltage regulator. Thanks to lower constraints on supply noise, the safest integration process is ensured with the reduction of the Bill of Material (BoM).

Dolphin Integration unveils the measurement report of its end-to-end metering product containing the Analog Front-Ends (Silicon qualifier) and the Computation Engine (on FPGA), and demonstrates its ability to achieve high-class performances for power metering applications.
The product  Metro-PM-Jade-mono.05 has been tested either for association with a current transformer sensor or with a shunt resistor. It features outstanding performances enabling to achieve respectively accuracy of 0.05 % / 0.07 % with a range of 5,000 / 3,000. Additionally, the accuracy of the measurements enables to gather new types of advanced data, which can be exploited to supply users with better information and to best serve utilities in the energy production management.
