Get Started Telling Stories Using Esri Story Maps

Like books and movies, maps are a medium for storytelling. To help people use maps to tell stories, Esri created story maps.

Story maps use geography as a means of organizing and presenting information. They combine maps with other forms of media such as photographs, videos, music, and narrative text. Esri provides Story Map application templates to help you get started, including Story Map Tour, Story Map Journal, and Story Map Series.

To learn best practices for making story maps, tune in to the one-hour live training seminar Telling Your Story with Esri Story Maps on May 7, 2015. You will learn why story maps are a fun and easy-to use format to help your organization communicate information to the public, colleagues, or project stakeholders on any topic.

You will learn about the different Story Map app templates Esri provides that simplify story map creation and require no coding. You will also learn how to choose the best template that suits your type of project and the steps to follow to create a compelling story map from a template.
