The conference is the centerpiece of a multi-platform editorial initiative that leverages Bloomberg's unparalleled breadth of media resources, including print, digital, television and radio platforms for a look at the way software development and coders are transforming corporations, schools and government.

"Code is the new lingua franca of business," said Bloomberg LIVE Editor Stephanie Mehta. "Our program will tackle the multi-faceted world of developers in a digestible format, arming the audience with invaluable insight to talk to their coders and consumers alike and realize opportunities in the global marketplace."

To open the program, Monday's dinner will feature an interview with Airbnb co-founder and CTO Nathan Blecharczyk who will discuss what other businesses can learn from the company's launch in Cuba and technology's role in connecting Cuba with the global marketplace.

Highlights from Tuesday's program include one-on-one interviews with Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and Yahoo President and CEO Marissa Mayer; a presentation of how software can solve a film's problems with Pixar's Michael B. Johnson; a look at Hollywood's portrayal of developers with "Silicon Valley" actor Thomas Middleditch and "Parks and Recreation" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" co-creator and Executive Producer Mike Schur; and a "Developer Dating Game" session designed to address the issues of developer recruitment and retention.

The initiative will include a digital video series "First Line of Code," featuring a number of well-known developers sharing their personal stories of first discovering code. Bloomberg Businessweek's special issue on newsstands June 12 will be dedicated to demystifying code and the people who create it with a cover story by master software developer and journalist Paul Ford that explores on the origins of the most important coding languages and their use today.
