Timmons Group Releases Version 2.0 of MO Hunting Mobile App for Missouri Department of Conservation

Aug 10, 2015 -- Timmons Group, a leading provider of technology and geospatial solutions for over 25 years, announced the release of version 2.0 of the MO Hunting mobile application developed for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC).

Timmons Group developed and continues to grow an eight-year partnership with MDC.  Timmons Group’s geospatial division has a strategic focus on natural resource, fish and wildlife, and forestry technology solutions.  MDC and Timmons Group, together, have strengthened each other’s strategic focus – Timmons Group designs cutting edge and intuitive applications and solutions for MDC’s internal staff and its constituents, and MDC furthers its focus on natural resource management and conservation.

The recent release of MO Hunting 2.0 will enable hunters to “notch” hunting permits offline.  After harvesting their deer or turkey, hunters can invalidate their permits by notching, which is required by law.  MDC agents in the field are able to utilize the hunter’s information by scanning a QR code linked to all of the hunter’s permits and information.  Hunters are able to use their unique Conservation ID to download their hunting permits while at home or anywhere with internet connectivity and then access them while hunting in remote areas, where internet connectivity may not be available.

Joe Kirby, Application Development Supervisor of MDC, comments, “This new feature really amps up the functionality of MO Hunting and what our hunters can really do with it to stay within state hunting requirements with regards to telechecking and permitting.”

You can download the app on the Google Play Store and Apple iTunes App Store.
