This release boasts hundreds of new features that will help customers and partners create and run agile, intelligent business applications, fuel innovation, and consolidate their systems and improve business continuity on premises and the cloud.

As part of this major Oracle Fusion Middleware release, Oracle announced the largest release of Oracle WebLogic Server in a decade, unveiling the world's first cloud-native, enterprise Java Platform. Enhancements were also made to components of Oracle Fusion Middleware, including Oracle BPM Suite, Oracle Data Integration, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle WebCenter, and Oracle Developer Tools.

"The latest Oracle Fusion Middleware release continues our long history of innovation, and offers a modern, agile platform that enables organizations to respond to their most complex challenges around cloud, big data, mobility and IoT," said Inderjeet Singh, executive vice president of Fusion Middleware at Oracle. "This is a significant release of WebLogic Server, and a major milestone for Coherence, delivering significant innovations that deliver unparalleled availability while enabling organizations to consolidate workloads with multi-tenancy."

New Innovations in Oracle Fusion Middleware
Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Coherence
The largest release of Oracle WebLogic Server in the past 10 years, and a major milestone for Oracle Coherence, this release includes significant innovations that deliver unparalleled availability while enabling organizations to consolidate workloads with multitenancy. The new product releases include new features that support multitenancy, multi datacenter high availability, and developer innovations with full Java EE 7 and Java SE 8 support. With this release, organizations also have access to the same platform on-premises and in the cloud via the Oracle Java Cloud Service, which is based on Oracle WebLogic Server.

Oracle Developer Tools
To help increase developer productivity, the new release is fully Java EE 7 compatible with REST, JSON, JMS, WebSockets, etc., as well as certified with Java SE 8. Integrations between Oracle Coherence and Java SE 8 enable Lambdas and Streams for high performance, dynamic in-memory data processing. In addition, the new release supports the latest DevOps practices with Arquillian, Docker, Jenkins, and Maven. It also enables pluggable WebLogic partitions that allow DevOps practitioners to easily move and copy environments between dev/test and production deployments. Additionally, updates to developer tooling, such as Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) and JDeveloper, allow developers to continue to utilize popular IDEs while taking advantage of these new Oracle Cloud and Oracle Fusion Middleware features. In this release, Oracle Forms introduces many enhancements along with compatibility with Oracle WebLogic Server, and easy integration with other Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies like Oracle Reports and Oracle BI-Publisher.

Oracle SOA Suite
Oracle SOA Suite's new release includes features that simplify and reduce the time to develop new integrations, and significantly improve response times. Developers now have the ability to improve performance with support for end-to-end JSON, as well as utilize JavaScript directly in their integration flows. New in-memory features dramatically improve transaction performance and new B2B optimization further improves transaction speed for partner collaboration. In the area of streaming analytics, Oracle Stream Explorer delivers a simplified and business-friendly approach, as well as advanced machine learning capabilities. To visualize analytics accessible from integration flows, new custom functions have been added to Oracle SOA Suite's Business Activity Monitoring capabilities to better align analytics with customer-specific key performance indicators. The integration platform also introduces new features to maximize uptime, diagnose and tune the integration environment, and make SOA deployments more resilient to exceptions and overload.

Oracle BPM Suite
Oracle BPM Suite's new functionality includes a modern user interface to streamline and improve workforce productivity. It also features a comprehensive set of REST APIs that enable applications built with any technology to leverage Oracle BPM Suite as an engine for workflow management, service integration, and process orchestration. Additionally, Oracle BPM Suite can now easily create hybrid applications between Oracle Process Cloud Service and Oracle BPM Suite, reducing time-to-market and costs by moving new process initiatives to the cloud.

Oracle WebCenter
This release delivers an improved user experience that is cohesive, responsive and device friendly across Oracle WebCenter Sites, Oracle WebCenter Portal and Oracle WebCenter Content. Now, Oracle WebCenter products provide modern and responsive UI, wizard-driven data integration and out-of-the-box custom visualization, and full access to enterprise content management. Oracle WebCenter Sites now provides Oracle Marketing Cloud integration, which delivers enhanced marketing insight, in-context analytics on pages and assets, conversion events in-context and anonymous user tracking. It also provides a new WebCenter Content Viewer for Imaging with annotation and redaction. This latest release now also offers hybrid ECM integration between WebCenter Content and the Oracle Document Cloud Service.

Oracle Data Integration
The latest release of the Oracle Data Integration portfolio extends big data capabilities across its data integration, data governance, and data quality products. Oracle Data Integrator offers big data functionality, including more flexible support for Spark, Pig and Oozie, as well as new release management capabilities that enable customers to support parallel development over distributed locations. Oracle Enterprise Metadata Management now includes HDFS File support, in addition to existing Hive, HCatalog, HBase, Impala, Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR support for big data governance. Additionally, Oracle Enterprise Data Quality now provides the industry's first rich multi-tenant global data matching services, providing Oracle Cloud Applications customers with seamless and richly configurable data quality protection. It also features fully automated REST Web Service generation and deployment, and native connectivity to big data systems, making it even easier to integrate quality data within the enterprise.
