Oracle Introduces Groundbreaking Visual Analytics in the Cloud With New Data Visualization Cloud Service

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Oct 26, 2015 -- ORACLE OPENWORLD -- Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) put a stunning new visual face on data with the announcement of Oracle Data Visualization Cloud Service. This latest addition to Oracle's analytics offerings in the cloud makes rich, powerful visual analytics accessible to every business user. People at all levels of an organization can blend and analyze enterprise, personal or big data in just a few clicks, effectively sifting through data clutter to quickly uncover and share hidden patterns and actionable insights. All of this can be done without the need for expert IT resources, resulting in faster time to value and significant increases in ROI.

"Adoption and usage patterns at our 400+ Business Intelligence Cloud Service customers confirm that fast, easy-to-use data visualization is critical to their businesses," said Hari Sankar, group vice president, Business Analytics, Oracle. "Oracle Data Visualization Cloud Service makes data visualization 100 percent self-service, empowering business users to go from raw data to actionable business insights in just a few minutes. This new service delivers rich visual analysis, rapid discovery of insights and secure collaboration, enabling fact-based decisions at every level of the organization."

Oracle Data Visualization Cloud Service eliminates the complexity typically associated with blending and correlating data sets. Easy, automatic data blending allows users to combine data from a variety of sources -- Oracle and other SaaS applications, on-premises systems, external sources and personal files -- and immediately gain new insights using visual analysis. They can enrich the analysis with narratives to create stories that can be shared across the organization in a scalable, secure fashion. The creation and sharing of analytic insights is supported on mobile, tablet and desktop devices, enabling complete flexibility and unlimited access.

"Skanska implemented Oracle as a common BI solution for all users around the globe, for easy mobile access, self-service tools, and improved decision-making -- and it reduced costs," said Peter Bjork, vice president of information systems strategies, Skanska AB. Conny Bjorling, the senior business analyst driving the BI project on Bjork's team, added, "Now with Data Visualization, we have something that is as visually compelling as it is easy to use. The storytelling functionality is a pivot point in terms of being able to explain your insights effectively."

Oracle Data Visualization Cloud Service is further differentiated by its compatibility and integration with the full breadth of Oracle's analytics offerings. Oracle's consistent technology approach ensures continuity of experience and portability across its entire analytics portfolio -- in the cloud and on-premises -- making it simpler for customers to adopt the environment of their choice and scale as their needs evolve.
