MILPITAS, Calif., Dec. 8, 2015 — (PRNewswire) — Sonics, Inc., the world's foremost supplier of on-chip network (NoC) technologies and services, today announced that it has signed three new licensees of SonicsGN®, the company's flagship interconnect product, in China. The new customers include: ZTE--one of the country's largest mobile technology companies; Artosyn—a provider of subsystems for drones (see related press release "ARTOSYN LICENSES SonicsGN ON-CHIP NETWORK TO INTEGRATE DRONE SoC"); and, a leading fabless provider of enterprise solid-state storage (SSD) chips.

"Sonics' NoCs continue to gain momentum in China, which is one of the world's fastest growing electronics markets," said Grant Pierce, CEO of Sonics. "China is home to several hundred fabless semiconductor companies that are rapidly improving their system-on-chip (SoC) design capabilities to produce more complex and highly integrated products. These companies value design technologies that help manage complexity and improve their time-to-market. The SoC design teams in our three new customers emphasized the importance of working with a proven leader in the NoC business to minimize risk, accelerate chip design cycles, and enhance their agility and competitive stance in the global market place."
