Trimble Adds Scalable GNSS Receiver to its Geospatial Portfolio

Allowing Flexibility and Accessibility for Geospatial Professionals

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 19, 2016—Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today the addition of a new scalable GNSS receiver to its geospatial portfolio—the Trimble® R9s GNSS receiver. Geospatial professionals now have another option to consider when searching for a receiver with the flexibility to scale as needed. The receiver is built on a sleek, modular GNSS platform and users can add functionality according to their workflow demands.

“The modular portfolio is a key component of our GNSS solutions,” said Jonathan Davis, GNSS marketing director of Trimble’s Geospatial Division. “This exciting, new receiver provides customers with the flexibility of a modular system in order for them to benefit from our latest GNSS technologies. An important aspect of this receiver is scalability—it can be tailored to the exact needs of a customer’s workflow. This could include being deployed as an RTK base station to an RTK rover mounted on a rod, in a backpack or even on a vehicle.”

The Trimble R9s GNSS receiver provides access to multiple GNSS constellations, wide-band 450 MHz internal radio, Ethernet connectivity and is easily configurable via the front panel. The solution also offers scalability from an entry-level receiver for post-processing, to a full-featured triple-frequency GNSS base and rover. The R9s also supports corrections services, including Trimble CenterPoint® RTX (better than 4 centimeters delivered via L-band satellite) and enhanced xFill™ technology, which allows surveyors to continue collecting data with centimeter level accuracy indefinitely when RTK or VRS connectivity is lost. Options such as Trimble Access™ field software, Trimble DL Android app and Web user interface or front panel allow the receiver to be configured for optimal performance to support a broad range of survey workflows.
