Pulse Capabilities To Be Highlighted on Panel At Business Technology Leadership Forum to Combat Human Trafficking

Feb 22, 2016 -- Ryan Paterson, CEO of IST Research, will join a panel of speakers at the Business Technology Leadership Forum to Combat Human Trafficking to discuss the Pulse platform and its strength in conducting human trafficking due diligence for supply chains. The event is sponsored by the United Way and Sabre.

Over the last year, more and more business leaders have become increasingly aware of how closely their own supply chains are tied to those of human traffickers around the world. With few exceptions, those who find out have developed a deep commitment to ridding these practices from their corporate footprint.

This Thursday, Paterson will join other leaders in the fight against human trafficking as a speaker at the Business Technology Leadership Forum to Combat Human Trafficking, which is taking place in San Francisco.

This event is an ideal opportunity for business leaders and executives to learn about the latest technological developments in the fight against human trafficking. In addition, attendees will gain insight as to how these practices can be eliminated from within their own supply chains and within the communities they serve.

“I will be presenting IST’s work on our Pulse platform. Pulse is the first technology solution aimed at combining information gathered from direct engagement with at-risk populations with information available through data collection on the open, deep, and dark web. We’re directing our Pulse capability toward a few of today’s most pressing human security challenges, specifically transnational crime and global terrorism,”said Paterson.

Everyday, people around the world are trafficked by nefarious actors. Many of those people are seeking honest work and a better life for their families, only to find themselves trapped in slavery. Terrorist organizations are recruiting new members in record numbers through social media and sophisticated web channels. These are the situations in which Pulse excels.

“Our goal is to identify and understand threats to vulnerable populations, such as labor exploitation and trafficking, and provide actionable data to those in a position to effect change, from law enforcement and public prosecutors to business leaders and supply chain professionals,” added Paterson.
