May 31, 2016 -- Organizations are increasingly demanding the ability to integrate high-resolution satellite imagery into a geographic information system (GIS). Such capabilities would let them perform workflows and analyses ranging from simple to complex.

Esri's ArcGIS Pro application, included in ArcGIS for Desktop, offers on-the-fly image processing capabilities, reducing the substantial amount of time and storage space required by conventional image processing techniques.

To learn about how to process imagery using ArcGIS Pro, tune in to the live training seminar Dynamic Image Processing in ArcGIS Pro on June 2, 2016.

The seminar's presenters will introduce you to the ArcGIS Pro image processing tools. They will discuss and demonstrate ready-to-use raster functions, which help you quickly process large imagery datasets and see the results right away. You will learn how to use raster functions to apply vegetation indexes, mathematical operators, radiometric corrections, and other processing algorithms one at a time. You will also see how to chain functions together to complete an entire image processing workflow quickly and easily.

After viewing the seminar, you will understand how to

·         Access a raster function, set appropriate parameters, and apply the function to an image or raster dataset.

·         Build a raster function chain to apply multiple functions in order.

·         Create a custom raster function chain.

·         Share and consume image processing tradecraft with colleagues and other stakeholders.

GIS managers and analysts, imagery analysts, data managers, and other experienced ArcGIS users who want to work with imagery and raster data in ArcGIS Pro will find this seminar useful. The training will be of particular interest to people working in defense and intelligence, mining, forestry, hydrology, agriculture, environmental management, and urban planning.

You will need a broadband Internet connection and an Esri Account to watch the live training seminar. Creating an Esri Account is easy and free: visit esri.com/lts, click Login at the top right, and register your name and email address.
