KALEAO Co-locates with ARM at SC16; New KMAX Solution on Display

CHARLOTTE, NC and CAMBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- Nov 11, 2016 -- KALEAO, an intellectual property and server solutions company, today announced that it will be in attendance at Super Computing 16, SC16, November 13-18, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. KALEAO will be co-located at the ARM booth, #4033, where its ground breaking hyperconverged platform KMAX will be on display for the HPC market at the show.

KALEAO chose the flexibility and openness of the ARM design to bring to market a refreshed and more optimized version of server architecture. The collaboration with ARM plays an important role for KALEAO as the company chose to co-locate with ARM at SC16 to emphasize its belonging in the ARM ecosystem of companies.

A month ago, KALEAO announced the availability of KMAX, marking a significant step forward in computing scalability, efficiency and performance density, seamlessly integrating software and hardware. KMAX implements "true convergence," a new approach to hyperconvergence, that leverages KMAX's optimized design and intelligent software to obtain high density, high performance, low power consumption, and data locality, while giving the flexibility and agility that is needed to manage today's IT infrastructure.

"KALEAO chose to attend SC16 to show attendees how KMAX is a powerful and energy efficient solution for hyperscale applications, and is well suited for HPC, in particular high performance data analytics," said Giampietro Tecchiolli, CEO, KALEAO. "KMAX's high bandwidth, combined with the locality and speed of its distributed storage makes it an optimal engine to propel workloads such as HPDA, and providing a new path to finding the sweet spot where HPC meets the business world."

At SC16, KALEAO will present its novel ARM 64-bit architecture for HPDA, which boasts FPGA acceleration of network and storage, including high performance NVMe SSDs, large cross sectional memory bandwidth and a very high core density (more than 1500 CPU cores per 3U rack space chassis) for massively distributed storage and compute. KALEAO KMAX for HPDA is capable of boosting Hadoop and other big data platforms, while optimizing hardware costs and energy consumption.

SC16 is the international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis. Each year it brings together the supercomputing community -- a gathering of scientists, engineers, researchers, educators, programmers, system administrators and developers that is unequaled in the world.
