Trimble Announces that Hitachi Construction Machinery Introduces Factory-Fit, Semi-Automatic Machine Control Excavator with Trimble Grade Control System

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 21, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —  Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced that the Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6305) ("Hitachi Construction Machinery") ZX200X-5B semi-automatic excavator is now available in Japan with a factory-fit Trimble® GCS900 Grade Control System. Hitachi Construction Machinery customers can now benefit from significant productivity gains using this new 20t class excavator with a Trimble machine control system in either a 2D or 3D configuration.

The Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System is a machine control system for earthworks that makes design surfaces, grades and alignments accessible to the operator on a display inside the cab. The system uses GNSS, GPS, laser, sonic or total station technology to accurately position the blade or bucket in real-time, significantly reducing material overages and improving the contractor's productivity and efficiency.

"The new ZX200X-5B excavator demonstrates Hitachi Construction Machinery's commitment to consistently develop and provide our customers with the technology, products and services that generate new value," said Manabu Edamura for Hitachi Construction Machinery.

"Trimble's expertise in grade control and Hitachi Construction Machinery's commitment to high-quality, innovative excavator technologies gives contractors in Japan a proven, cutting-edge solution that can be ordered right from the factory," said Bryn Fosburgh, vice president at Trimble.
